My name is Rach and I have always had a love of animals.
Animals are so dam awesome and I love hanging out with them. We are guardians to, two Devon Rex cats, Mini Dachshund, Dachshund Mix, and a Quaker, a very chatting parrot.
At times growing up as a child it was very tough and I don't really liking talking about it.
I had times of feeling scared, afraid, misunderstood and mistreated and animals were always my safe place, my security and comfort when things went to shit.
I always seem to find that stunned bird, or the lizard being attacked by ants and I wanted to take care of and set them free.
My grandfather made me a beautiful hand carved magical miniature grandfathers clock that had a secret door in the back. I would often find small dead sparrows or baby frilled lizards and put them in my clock and the next day I would hope they would come back to life. Sadly, this was not the case and instead my mum would combine and clean the trail of ants coming from my clock.
Each had their given names and played and important part in my life. While others where much loved family pets.
My love for animals led me to become a wildlife career caring for possums, wallabies, kangaroos and birds. In this time I found that orphaned animals were coming in so traumatised, cold lethargic and totally exhausted. Although I put some down my bra to keep warm they were still crying and not settling. They would cry for hours before they fed. It broke my heart. I was on mission to find something that would help. This initially came in the form of a flower essence and that was only the beginning of my journey to help heal animals in a safe and holistic method.
All of the injured animals were cared for and returned to their natural habit when they could be.
As a dog groomer of 9 years I saw dogs filled with so much fear and anxiety, ear/yeast infections, allergies and more. So many of the dogs that came had bad experiences at other groomers ,or had to be put to sleep to be groomed. I used my holistic methods to help these dogs feel calm and relaxed during the groom and along with understanding of seeing these symptoms as an imbalance in their body I was able to help get the dogs back into balance and be a happy and healthy dog.
It has always been my passion to work with animals so I am proud to offer you Rach Rey, a safe, nurturing place for you and your pet.
My “work” is my “bliss” and I now spend my time doing what I love...
This is Pablo Pigcasso.
I had him for a short while and now he is on 10acres having a fat time.
I taught him heaps of tricks, he was sooo smart. He grew very big but not too big for cuddles.
This is Harvey. He is one of many birds I raised and released.
He was amazing. He would walk up the tiled hallways attached to Karma's tail having a free ride.
This is one of many little baby brushtail possums I raised and released. His name is Horace.
These possums are my favourite. These little guys take a lot of time and care.
Bottle feeds all through the night.
I wear them down in my bra in a bag to keep them warm.
